A lately formed group representing technicians and manufacturers is reiterating a commonly heard truism in its efforts against propos Right to Repair legislation: "If it's not broke for what cause [i]or[/i] reason fix it?" The Coalition for Automotive Repair and Fair Information Xchange (CARFIX), compos of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers, supports voluntary efforts for automakers to share diagnostic and repair information rather than the proposals for legislation floating between the sides of Congress, which some are anticipating will be approved this year.
